PLUS

I forgot to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! May your 2009 be all you hope for! Yesterday marked 8 years that Josh and I have been together! Lord willing we will share many more together! I hope you are able to keep all of your New Years Resolutions....I am not sure if I am maing any yet. Well, maybe just 1 or 2....
Have fun everyone and stay safe!

Holiday Fun!

We have been able to stay home for a little over two weeks this Christmas and New Year! Josh has been spending a lo of time hunting with his dad, brother, ucle and Nathan! Josh has killed 2 does so far. We have seen a lot of family and actually been able to spend time with them this year. I just wish we were able to see everyone we wanted to see. But, I guess you can't have everything.
We have had a few emotional roller coasters. A member at Glendale had a stroke, then just a few minutes later we found out that one of the teenagers at Jacksonville was baptized. Then yesterday we learned that Aunt Janet passed away. Keep the family in your prayers.
For the most part the 'vacation' has been wonderful. Now the family is looking forward to Disney World...not rushing it, but looking forward to it!
Well, we just have 2 whole days left here and then it is back to AL. It will take a while for things to get back into the groove. We look forward to getting back into the swing of things, but we will really miss TN and the familly. We are thankful to God that we have been able to spend the amount of time we have with our loved ones. Remember us on our drive home.
We love you all!

We Made It

Well, we finally made it in to TN about 9ish last night. We had a great drive in until we got to Jackson.... We stopped in Jackson to check the air in the right trailer tire when Josh noticed that the left tire was GONE! So, my grandparents happened to be in Jackson shopping, so we called them to come over there so we could go get another tire....Josh and Bpa went to Wal Mart and got a tire, came back and changed it, and we finally got to leave. We stayed with his parents last night and today at lunch Josh and Evan headed out to Fayette county to hunt tomorrow. I really hope Josh gets something! Joshs mom and grandmother have tons of Christmas candy made ready for everyone to eat...Judy made a white fudge with black walnuts in it that is delicious! I am so excited about spending time with everyone for Christmas!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and great New Year!

We are still here!

We have been very busy lately! We made a quick trip up to Nashville last weekend to do all of our Christmas shopping..just a few left! We met up with Dustin and Laura. We have already been having some Christmas parties here!
A student of ours went hunting with Josh and I last night. We had a lot of fun, except for the 3 hours of unsuccessful looking for the deer. Josh and Jeremy went back this morning and found it. We are headed home Thursday morning. See you all soon!

thank you!

Wow, it has been almost a month....time flies when you are busy!
Well, tomorrow is Thanksgiving and Josh and I have so much to be thankful for! First of all salvation! We hate that we couldn't be in TN this Thanksgiving, but we have plenty of vacation saved up for Christmas! We are getting more and more excited about Disney World next Spring!
Josh and I put up our tree two Sundays ago because I wasn't sure when else we would have time...but I didn't decorate it until today! I am excited for our first Christmas in our own house! It will just be the two of us eating tomorrow but Evan and Christina are coming late tomorrow night. I think Friday may be a girls only day! I always love it when we have company! Well, it is almost time for services...talk later.

Back in AL

We both had so much fun visiting home last weekend. Josh really enjoyed the quality time with his brother and father! They did a lot of man things and had a great time. I was able to spend a lot of quality time with mom and Nate (when he wasn't hunting too). I haven't been able to just goof off and relax when we made a trip home in a while. I also got to catch up with an old friend. I enjoyed some mother-in-law/daughter-in-law time also! We made stew and talked about the boys. I was also introduced to the Wii.....that was interesting! Josh preached at Glendale on Sunday so we had a good time catching up with some of the people there. and today some people came to look at our couch....so I think we will be looking for a new one soon. I can't wait to be home for Christmas....I can't wait to put up Christmas decorations but Josh said he won't help if I do it before thanksgiving. I would have had them up a month ago if I could! I am so excited about decorating 'our home' for our third christmas together...yay! Hope all is well with all of you!
Love
ash and josh

Oh P.S. We also got to spend some time with the LeMasters and hear some about his professional ball career before he became an elder in the Lords church!

Halloween

Since we won't be in Jacksonville for Fall Fest I decided to wear my festive Halloween things to the College devotional tonight! Well, we carved a pumpkin for the first time this year! Yay!
Also, Saturday, Josh busted his radiator.....so we are now having to fix the truck!
We will be able to come home in a few weeks I am so excited....
I guess that is about all.......
Maybe more next time!
Love,
Josh and Ash

Pumped!

So, Hanson (yes, they are still around) will be coming to Birmingham next week and I am so excited! I think I will be going...even though Josh won't go with me....I am talking to some of the students here about going along with me.
On a different note....we are having company this weekend. Josh's grandparents are coming down and are bringing Clay-Hunter and Ana....we will have a good few days....and good food! I am ready!
Well...Josh and I are fixing to head out to go squirrel hunting!

Here we go again.

I really don't like not having the internet at home....but it is so stinkin expensive! Anyway, the picture above is the nice burn I received from accidentally touching the muffler on the lawn mower. Ouch! Then as if being burned wasn't enough...it got infected! So here we go with another round of antibiotics!
Well we are finally completely settled into our house, except for bringing home the day bed and taking back Hank and Angie's coffee table. I am ready for it to be time to put up our Christmas tree in our first home! Josh wouldn't let me put it up yet...so it is in the attic and we can finally park in the garage!
Well, I have to get busy making name placemats for the adopt-a-student fellowship meal on Sunday. Then I think we are going on a date tonight!
Love you all!

One more day!

Only one day left to this busy weekend! The yard sale is over! We made $60ish yesterday and about the same today. We donated the rest of the things to Center of Hope. Since the yard sale is over..that means...I can park my car in the garage!! It is in there now! So, all I have left is to get ready for the Mary Kay sell tomorrow. Lets hope it goes well also!!
Love you all,
ash and josh

Craziness!

We are back from Polishing the Pulpit. We thought we were having company the same weekend we got back, but didn't after all. We are getting ready this week to finally have our yard sale! I am also having a big Mary Kay Clearance sale sunday! I am trying to make room in the garage for my car!
Things are going well. All of the students are back from summer break. We have gained a few new students. I am excited to get back in to the swing of things. We are already trying to plan a girls night for all of them. Well I should really go get busy pricing things for the yard sale tomorrow.
Love you all
josh and ash.

I did it!

Hey everyone,

We are having a great week hearing different speakers and catching up with friends. It would be nice if we had a little more free time...but that is what vacations are for and this is actually work. I heard Shelia Butt speak for the first time today and she was wonderful! We had dinner today with a lot of friends from different areas of our lives, we ate with friends from around Jacksonville and friends from back home and they all had the opportunity to get to know each other.

We are heading to bed for another long day of recording tomorrow.

Later,

Josh and Ash

P.S. the picture is of the Talapia I ate at Red Lobster with macadamian nuts and coconut and a thin white chocolate sauce. The best thing I have ever put in my mouth!!

Polishing the Pulpit

We are here in Sevierville for Polishing the Pulipit until next Thuresday. We spent my birthday getting readyfor this as well as getting tags for the truck, DL updated, and getting lost in Knoxville. Eventful day! Anyway, we were thrown into the PTP work last night....we stayed extremely busy but really enjoy it. I have learned how to work my new camera. The next challenge will be uploading them to the computer! That is still a coming attraction! Well, we actually have a 6 hour break, so I am going to take advantage of it by going to the scrapbooking store!

Bye,

The Romos

Getting ready to go!

So, we are getting ready to head to Polishing the Pulpit in Gatlinburg. We will be gone from Aug. 22 to Aug. 29. We will be extremely busy! It is our first year to be able to go.
Last night when Josh got home the neighbor 2 doors down came to the door and told Josh that a huge tree limb had fallen out of the tree in the back yard and scared Shelby half to death. He said she was fine but somehow she got off of her run. So he left a note after he chained her back up for us. Thank you God for nice neighbors. I guess He knows how special she is!
Well we have finished week 2 of our Couch to 5K. (Erika and I have, Josh won't run with us) We are running 90 sec. now and then walking 5, you alternate that for 20 min. I think next week we run 90 sec and walk 90 sec. That will be tough, especially since we will be apart from each other! Another friend who will be at PTP will have to keep me on track!
Well, I am getting ready to head up to Curves and then bake some cookies for the neighbors before we head to Ironaton (Ironica) for a gospel meeting.
I hope everyone is having a good week!

Get Healthy!

So, I have started this running thing called Couch to 5k....I think it is from the devil! I run 3 times a week for 30 minutes....you do it in intervals. Anyway....I thought I was going to have a heart attack the first day, the second time I started dry heaving....so maybe this time I will be ok. I know it is good for me, but I am so sore the next day! I am glad I have Erika there to support me though. (she runs with me)
Josh and I have been so blessed this year, thank you all who have helped us get where we are, especially our parents!
Well, I am fixing to go to Curves to work out!
Love you all!

Sorry.....I am horrible!

I know it has been FOREVER!!! We should be getting internet at the house again soon and the posts wont be so few and far between.
We went to the second church camp for the summer at ICYC around Jasper, AL. We had a great week with one baptism and many restorations. That was July 20-25.
We had a surprise visit by Hank, Angie and Molly when we got home after camp. They were only able to stay with us 2 nights though. But we still had a lot of fun!
Then on the 28th for Josh's birthday we went to see the Braves and the Cardinals in Atlanta. We had a blast and the Cards won...duh! So, great day all around!
We actually don't have a ton going on this week...but it is only Monday! I am sure things will change! Hope everyone is doing well.
P.S. keep my grandfather in your prayers....Bill Gray.

Yay Fireworks!!

Well, we had an awesome 4th of July! On the 3rd we went up to the church building and grilled out and watched the fireworks show at the college across the road. It was short but good.
On Friday we grilled out at Erika's. We took the dogs over there and let them play while we cooked and ate....then naturally they got out of the fence and we had to take them back to the house and put them on their runs. We went back to Erika's and made smores!!! (and played a couple of games)
Saturday we went to the hunting club and grilled burgers over a fire pit that we made. Davy and Heather Russell came with us and they brought their dog Drake. We had a great time. We are trying to catch up on rest still. It has been non stop since camp though.....We just feel drained! (hope we aren't getting sick).
Josh's mom had knee surgery on the 3rd so keep her in your prayers. She is slowly getting better, but it will take time.
Thats about it for us! Update again soon.

We're Back!!!

Hi, all! I did not forget about you! We just got back from a very productive week at camp! Avery long week at camp too. I miss everyone already! I was in the cabin with the 8 and 9 year old girls, 10 of them. I am pretty sure we had the messiest cabin on campus! We got back to 2 rambunctious dogs and our new house....air conditioning!! Sometimes I wish camp was 2 weeks....maybe not. We actually don't have as much as usual on the schedule for the next few weeks. It has slowed down a little. I will try to get some new pictures on here soon. It is harder for me to get on now because we don't have internet at the house anymore so when I want to get on I have to come up to Josh's office....but I will do my best....c ya!

Monday, June 2, 2008

Josh and I also went today and bought our refrigerator and with the left over money the builder gave us we also bought a mailbox and fire proof safe! We are closing tomorrow at 3:30! Then the moving begins! We are so excited! Can't wait to let you know how it goes!

YES, It's Back!!

Hi all! We only have 2 nights left in the rental house....yay!! We will be closing Friday evening and spending the weekend moving everything into the new house! I will be sending out moving letters to most of you when we close!

Good News All---Sonic has brought back the Island Fire Burger for the summer...I am stoked! Bad News-I went to get one today for lunch and they didn't have it at that particular sonic yet...junk!

Anyway... here are a few pictures of the house! I will add a few more each day!

4 more days

Well today was a little eventful! We got up this morning and NeeNaw, Bpa and I took turns push mowing the yard. The neighbor across the street sharpened the blade for us. He is so nice, he is a 91 year old widower. He gets so excited just to be able to visit with someone.
Then we drove to Lineville to visit with the Horn's. They were doing well! Then we headed back to the house to begin dinner. Well, NeeNaw was getting things ready in the kitchen when we heard an aweful noise. We went in there to check on her and the glass door had shattered! She didn't even touch it with anything! So we cleaned up that mess and called State Farm to leave a message to see if it was covered by our renters insurance....
We had 4 of the college students over for dinner and we cooked so much food! We had a ton left over so we took the neighbor a plate of food and NeeNaw and Bpa visited with him a little.
Well those were pretty much the events of the day! Now we are getting ready for bed.

Pulling my Heartstrings...

We went to services this morning and then came home and had a wonderful lunch! This afternoon we went to the Nursing Home to sing to the residents. There is a lady there that looks so forward to us coming. I can't help but smile when I walk inand see her sitting there! She was wearing black pants and a black shirt, a green scarf and a purple jacket. She had on about 10 bracelets and rings, she wore a huge green bow in her hair and had a red feather hat with her! It is so sweet that she has things like this to look forward to! I am sure she loves getting dressed up to come sing! She is so precious, she just SMILES when we sing songs she knows and she sings along with us....thats one of the moments you cry at when watching life...a good cry though. It is such a heartwarming moment.

On a different note....we only have 5 more days until we close!

Saturday, May 24, 2008

Another step...

Well, today we got a new dining room suit! We went with my grandparents to Ashley Furniture in Birmingham and picked us out a table and chairs! We love it. Josh almost broke the chair they had on display in the gallery though...he decided to lean back on the back legs....it cracked! So, then came our first rule...don't lean back in the chairs...lol! Anyway. Then we took my grandparents to dinner at a hibachi grill for the first time, they also had sushi for the first time, eel at that! We had a great time! 6 more days until we are in our new house! I just keep putting off the packing part...:.

Friday, May 23, 2008

Quick catch up.....

Today is going to be busy! NeeNaw (my grandmother) called about 7 am to get directions to come see us in Jacksonville. I didn't think they were leaving until around lunch....so, I get an even earlier start on cleaning! For those who don't know...we are in the process of buying our first home! It will be in a town called Weaver, AL. It is a new construction so we have gotten to pick out a few of the last things. They put in the carpet Wed. and the A/C and heat yesterday! All they have left is touchups and our refrigerator! It should be appraised by Monday then we can work on closing by next Friday! We are so excited! I will post pictures asap! Well...there is alot more cleaning to be done! P.S. the picture above was from last years Christmas card.

The Beginning...

Well, not all of our families are on Facebook (whats wrong with them?! lol) so I thought I would start us a blog page to help them keep up! There is quite a bit going on down here! So, I will give it a whirl!
